Our Story
Rooted in where I’ve been. Wild enough to keep becoming.

Rooted & Wild Living wasn’t born from a perfectly mapped-out business plan.

It grew slowly—from a whole lot of life, two willing hands, years of learning, and a winding path that somehow makes a hell of a lot more sense looking backward than it ever did while I was living it.

Almost eight years ago, I started Wood + Honey with a dream and very little idea what I was getting myself into.  What began with beeswax and candles became so much more. Wood + Honey carried my family through divorce, a pandemic, motherhood, rebuilding, and more than a few what the hell am I doing? moments.

It taught me how to build something with my own two hands. How to trust myself. How to pivot. How to begin again.

But Wood + Honey was never the only path I was walking.

For more than 11 years, I’ve also been teaching yoga. Flowing Warrior Yoga is the latest venture and namesake.

I've studied with a variety of teachers and traditions over the years, drawing from Hatha, Vinyasa, Somatics, Yin, Kundalini and Restorative practices. My teaching has always been less about getting a pose "right" and more about getting curious—about our bodies, movement, breath, minds and hearts.

Flowy. Playful. Intuitive. Sometimes sensual and dancey. Usually with a laugh and a little irreverence thrown in and above all, accessible to everyBODY. No yogi left behind.

Over those years, I've taught countless classes, workshops and events, worked with businesses and sports teams, and led sold-out international retreats. Yoga taught me another way of understanding what it means to be human—to move with change instead of constantly fighting against it, to find strength without losing softness, and to stay grounded while life moves around us.

And somewhere along the way, that curiosity began reaching beyond the yoga mat. Back to something that had actually been calling me since I was a teenager.

Plants. Herbs. Food. Gardening. Traditional medicine. Making things with my own hands. Understanding our bodies and our connection to the natural world.

Today, I’m working through a 1,200-hour herbal medicine certification, diving deeper into medicinal plants, traditional herbal practices, and the relationship between the land, our bodies, and the ways we care for ourselves.

And this is where all those seemingly separate paths finally meet.
Rooted & Wild Living.
Beeswax and botanicals ~ Yoga and movement ~ Herbs and traditional medicine ~ Gardening and growing food ~ Making things by hand ~ Motherhood ~ Nature ~ Learning how to live a little closer to the earth—and remembering that we don't have to do it perfectly for it to matter.

Because Rooted & Wild Living isn't about pretending I've mastered some beautifully curated version of slow, holistic living.

Trust me, I haven't.

There are dishes in the sink, laundry waiting to be folded, weeds taking over the garden, kids or dogs who need something the second I sit down, animals to feed, and plenty I still don't know.

Maybe that's the point.

This is about getting curious. Learning. Growing. Making thoughtful choices where we can. Remembering old ways while leaving room to create our own.

Being grounded enough to know what matters and wild enough to keep becoming.

Wood + Honey is a root. Flowing Warrior is a root. The garden, the herbs, the beeswax, motherhood, this land, and every version of myself it took to get here—they're roots too.

Rooted & Wild Living is what's growing from them.

I don't have every piece figured out yet and for once, I don't think I need to.

I'm pretty damn excited to find out how this Rooted Soul & Wild Heart will continue to grow.

Just a note...

Hey sweet souls,
Â
Figured I would shed a little light on myself, the woman behind the curtain essentially ...

I’m a mom of three, yoga teacher, maker, gardener, dreamer, traveler, herbalist-in-training, and the human behind Rooted & Wild Living.

I live in my perfectly manifested old farmhouse surrounded by 120 acres with my three kiddos, the love of my life, our two dogs, Bea & Freya, three very spoiled barn cats and a ridiculous amount of chickens.
Â
Around here, there’s usually something growing, something being made, something that needs fixing, and at least one load of laundry I’ve completely forgotten about.

I’ve been teaching yoga for more than 11 years, spent nearly nine years building Wood + Honey from the ground up, and I’m currently working through a 1,200-hour herbal medicine certification.

Rooted & Wild Living is where I finally stopped trying to keep all of those parts of my life separate.

I’m interested in how our bodies work, how plants can support us, where our food comes from, growing and making more of what we use everyday, and generally learning how to live a little closer to the land. But I sure as hell am not here to sell you or tell you, some perfectly curated version of holistic living.

I swear often. Drink gin or bourbon depending on the weather. Pop Excedrin for migraines. Sometimes dinner comes out of a box. My garden gets away from me. My house is lived in. I talk to the moon. My to-do list is never shortening. And I’m still learning a hell of a lot as I go... and that’s kind of the whole point.

Rooted & Wild Living is simply a place for me to share some of what I’ve learned over the years, what I’m learning now, the things I make, and whatever comes next - a culmination of all the things.

No perfection, no pretending. Just real, honest, no bullshit living.

Welcome to the beautifully imperfect and unfinished chaos that is my life - and I simply adore it all.
